Frequently asked questions
- What is BudgetBucks?
- BudgetBucks is a household budgeting app. You plan the month in spending folders, your purchases land in an Inbox, and you file them into folders so you always know what's left.
- What does real-time mean in BudgetBucks?
- If your credit or debit card company is supported, purchases show up in your budget seconds after you pay. You set it up once from your account page. It's optional.
- Do I need real-time alerts?
- No. Real-time is there if your card company supports it. Adding purchases by hand always works and takes seconds, and folders, rules, and splits work the same either way.
- Do I have to give BudgetBucks my bank login?
- No. No bank login required, ever. BudgetBucks never asks for your bank username or password or your full card number, and nothing in BudgetBucks can move money. It builds on the purchase alerts your card company already sends, so there's no bank connection to break or reconnect.
- What are auto-file rules?
- A rule files a merchant's purchases into a folder for you, like "Shell" into Gas. You can test a rule before saving it, and every auto-filed purchase shows the rule with a one-tap Undo.
- Can I split one purchase across folders?
- Yes. Split a purchase in a couple of taps, like part Groceries and part Household, and BudgetBucks keeps the math adding up.
- Does it work on iPhone and desktop?
- Yes. BudgetBucks runs in your browser on iPhone, Android, and desktop.
- How much does BudgetBucks cost?
- $7.99 a month, or $79 a year (save 18%, about 2 months free), after a free first month. No card is needed to start your trial, and you can cancel anytime.
- How do I get access?
- BudgetBucks is invite-only for now. If you have an invite code, you can create an account in about a minute.
